INDOOR SOCCER

Sport For Fun Indoor Soccer provides a game where you are never far from the action no matter the level of unfitness.

• No points tables
• Enter at any stage
• Venue on campus
• No games during exams or holidays
• No team practices necessary
• Talent and co-ordination not essential

 

HOW TO ENTER

Just come in to Unipol Recreation Centre with your entry fee, team name and two team member's contact details.

Only $16.00 per team per game

• You can enter or re-enter at any time during the season**
• Day: Monday, Wednesday or Friday
• Time: 6.15pm - 10.00pm (40min game length)
• Where: Smithells Gym
• Grade: Mixed (min. one female), four a-side
• Requests for one off game-times will be considered (at least one weeks notice)

THE ‘RULES’

• Participation and FUN are the aims of the game.
• Scores are taken for the teams’ interests only so are not officially recorded.
• The referee’s decision is final. Physical or verbal abuse to the referee and other players will result in player/team being removed from the competition.
• Alcohol is not permitted on any ground or facility. Intoxicated players are prohibited from playing.
• No games are played over the exam and holiday period.
• Defaults and No Shows (please see:  what happens if your team can’t play)

 

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOUR TEAM CAN’T PLAY?

DEFAULTS:
At least 24 hours notice is required when your team wants to default. When defaulting you are forfeiting    the game you have already paid for. Defaults made within 24 hours of the game are deemed a no show.

NO SHOWS:
If your team does not show for your game, you will be charged for an additional game as well as the ‘no show’ game. Two ‘no shows’ will result in your team being removed from the competition. ‘No shows’ are incredibly frustrating for everyone so please be considerate and call Unipol (479-5888) or e-mail unipol@otago.ac.nz as soon as you find out your team can’t play.

 

CANCELLATIONS

For cancellations please check the Unipol Recreation Centre website (www.unipol.co.nz) or phone (479-5888). Unipol reserves the right to cancel, change or add to the programme at any stage.

 

WHEN IS THE DRAW DONE?

The draw is done on a weekly basis and uploaded on www.unipol.co.nz (online sports draws) at least two days prior to game day. Entries received within the two day period are not guaranteed a place in this weeks draw. This is because once the draw has been loaded onto the website, administration for that round has been closed off and referees have been organized for set times.

 

HEALTH AND SAFETY

Referees: Their role is to ensure your safety on the field. Please report injuries to the referee. The referee has access to a first aid kit.

Hydration: Please bring your own labelled drink bottle.

 

VENUE

All games are played at Smithells Gym on Cumberland St opposite the PE School

(**If the draw becomes full there may be a waiting list. Places in the draw are reserved on a first in first served basis so to ensure you place in the competition re-enter well in advance of your final game)
