Hire Rates

Student: Students of the University of Otago

Public: All others

Discounts are available for extended hire periods. (except for Ski & Snowboard gear which already has extended hire discounts.)

Bookings

Prior bookings are advised but are not always necessary. If you do wish to book in advance, payment must be made @ the time of booking.

Ski and Snowboard Gear

From late June or whenever snow comes, the Snow Shed will be open as follows:

9:00am till 7:00pm

Monday to Friday

The hire fee and bond are required for payment at time of booking.

To hire our equipment you will need:

• A $40 bond
• To show your student ID card. Members of the public must leave a photocopy of a current driver's licence.
• The appropriate hire fee.

Your Responsibilities:

The hirer is responsible for the safekeeping of the equipment from collection until return. For details please read the 'Acceptance of Responsibility' section below.

Acceptance of Responsibility:

We require all hirers to sign the following "Acceptance of Responsibility" statement on our hire agreement form.

Equipment

I understand that I will be using the equipment at my own risk and that Recreation Services is not liable for any injury or accident caused by the use or possession of this property.

1. I will return the equipment:
• on time
• return clean and undamaged
2. If the equipment is returned late, I will pay for any extra days hire.
3. If the equipment is damaged or mislaid, I may lose my bond and I will meet all costs associated with the repair/replacement of the item/s. I will not initiate any repairs on the equipment myself. A cleaning fee may be charged if equipment is returned in an unacceptable condition.

Facilities

I understand that I will be using the facilities/equipment at my own risk and that Recreation Services is not liable for any injury or accident caused by the use or possession of this property.

1. I will return the key:
• on time
• and will leave the facility/equipment in a clean and undamaged condition
2. If the key is returned late, I will pay for any extra days hire.
3. If the equipment/facility is damaged or items are mislaid, I may lose my bond and I will meet all costs associated with the repair/replacement of the item/s. I will not initiate any repairs on the facility or equipment myself.
